The unthinkable almost happened to me today and it has been scaring the heebeejeebeez
out of me since! After picking up Reece from preschool and buckling him in the mini,
I went to leave.
Checking behind me on both sides then backing out slowly, all of the sudden a
precious little girl
from Reece's class came slowly walking from behind my van.
OH MY heart sank through the floor.
It was so close.
If I had been in a little more of a hurry, like I usually am, and backed out quick I would have hit her for sure.
I'm so thankful she walked to the side and that I wasn't in a hurry. I looked and there was NO way I would have seen her. Her mom was buckling in her smaller sibling. Her mother, which I don't know, didn't know she was there either. We gave each other the biggest sigh of relieve, both being very thankful the unthinkable didn't happen today. Life is precious! We should
all slow down a little.

That is my worst nightmare. I am glad she moved so that you saw her. Was it the cute little blonde girl in the blue dress?? She was making me nervous in the street.
Ugh! That scares the bejezees out of me - either way: me hitting a child or someone hitting my child! Someone was looking out for you and the little girl today--be grateful! And, yes, life is too precious! Our children are too precious!
Just another thought--my kids' preschool has car-line, which is the safest route of all. As it's your turn to pull up to pick up your child, the workers load the child into your vehicle and you pull off. No children in the parking lot whatsoever. Check to see if your pre-school could do a car-line! They are the BEST!!
AAAAAAAh, that is so scary! Moments like that really make life seem precious.
