My friend Vicki - with the rock hard body- had a competition the other day.

It was my first Body Building Competition - (I'm sure your surprised)- that I had ever been to.
So Claire and I made the trek to see her in person.

I was AMAZED at the things they could make their bodies do!

She is so hard-core, so disciplined! Her only weakness used to be Diet Coke.
I loved that I could count on her to always have one in hand. She just gave it up - DANGIT!

So this last week I joined her weight-loss/weight lifting class. I'm hoping she can get me ship-shaped!
Last week I could hardly walk or sit to PEE, but this week it was lots easier.
Next week - I've been warned - will be hard! Pray for me!

spring has sprung

Today we got to spend the day with cousin Jill and Brooklyn! I love that Crew has a little cousin to play with. The other day she came to play for the day and I loved hearing their little conversations with each other. They chased each other around all day, gave hugs and kisses, and played in the sand.
It's fun having a little girl around that doesn't want to shoot me all day.
I had to take a picture of them on the big rock so show off not only them but my beautiful tulips that my friend Andrea planted for me before she left. It has sure made spring a lot more colorful and happy! I think I'm addicted to tulips now and want to plant them all over for next year.
The frog pond is now open for business and the frogs are in full hopping mode!
Hayden got his new bike finally about a month ago. He has been dreaming of this bike for some time! He looks so studly riding it around trolling for friends :)
I'm so happy that good weather is finally here. When it's sunny outside I spend the whole day in the sun - working in the yard - or laying out reading and watching Crew play. He brings me his shoes every minutes saying "please, please"!
I love to look out across the street at these pretty tulips too. They were Andrea's and so I told her I would take a picture of them for her. I didn't want to get busted by the new neighbor photographing her yard so they aren't very close up. Andrea put her heart and time into this yard and it's so pretty.

All in all it's been a great spring. I think part of the reason is we didn't do as many spring sports this year. Riley is playing softball but that's it. It's nice not to have to be running kids to practice and games everyday. I'm sure ready for summer though. Bring on the hot weather, pool/splash park days, snowcones, camping...you name it! I'm excited!!

Alison Graduated from BYU!!!
She is one amazing girl!

We were able to have a little Tucson Reunion the other day in Orem because one of our favorite former neighbor/babysitter/laurel just graduated from BYU!Alison is such a sweet girl and from one of my all time favorite families the Laulusa's! One of the hardest things about not being in Tucson is missing this fun family! They all didn't get to come so Hayden and Riley were missing out on seeing their buddies Sam and Hanna.

going through withdrawals....

It's almost been 1 month since my friend and neighbor
Andrea moved away. I haven't really been able to blog about it yet because I wasn't sure what to say and I didn't want to get all depressed about it again.
The first week was just about acceptance that they really were gone.
The second week I just cleaned and cleaned my house to keep my mind off of it.
It's hard to look out my kitchen window now to stalk if she is home or not because I know that she is not there.
Today after church we went outside to sit and play on the grass. Usually this would mean that
eventually her and the kids would come out and we would get to hang for a while, but not today.
I made the mistake the other day while on the phone with her of telling her about my new neighbor (the one in HER house), I called the new neighbor "you know...the NEW Andrea,"
but I hope she knows that she can't be replaced.

We sure miss Aaron and the boys too. Aaron is one of those super nice guys and he's kind of my
twin when it comes to being a ditz, misplacing and forgetting things. He's super easy to talk to and a HUGE fan of the history of the cinema! (our little joke)
Their boys are such good boys with the cutest smiles. I instantly missed the little waves and smiles of excitement I would get as I would come and go from my house.
I'm so thankful I got to know this family I only wish it wouldn't have taken so long!

One of my favorite things in the world is getting to know people and making new friends.
One of my least favorite things is when a great friends moves away from me.
Change is hard for me and I get really attached to people, but I know this will be a great move for their family. I'm so excited to hear about all their new adventures in Seattle and wish them the best!! xoxo

Better late than never right???

Happy 2011!!!!

So where is my jet pack because I'm pretty sure I thought I would have one by now.

We rang in the New Year with some fun friends, fish tacos, games, and then a dance party in the USA!

Yes I do what I can to please my man!

Not sure what is going on here but Sarah is for sure the best question ask-er of the night. She can get anyone in the hot seat and get the goods out.

 I wanted to stick my face in the chocolate fountain. YUM!

This was part of my white elephant gift and it came with a "the magic of belly dance dvd," for some reason all the guys were fighting over it. I'm not sure why??

Juli was SO excited with her SPONGE BOB Snuggie. I would be excited too - we all know I LOVE my snuggie.....see here.

After we played some games we went out to Brian's new man cave and he had it all set up for us to have a DANCE PARTY USA (as I called it annoyingly all night)! He had strobe lights and a smoke machine to set the mood. We GROOVED in the New Year!

The dance floor got a little tore up by these two couples having a DANCE OFF.
I've never seen so many moves!

Brian went all out with his man cave - I think all of our husbands were begging for a key.
It sure made for a fun New Year's Eve Dance!

rivalry week 2010!

Have I ever complained about our crappy grass yet? Yes it's full of weeds!

Kyle tries and tries to kill them but those pesky buggers keep coming back!

We love rivalry week on our street mainly because we have fun neighbors with good sense of humor. 

Too bad BYU couldn't pull off a win this year :( there was a bit of depression going on our 

drive back from WA. There is always next year.

December Already???

Where has the time gone? Where do I even start?? Can it really be December already? I have a lot of catching up to do!


November was a busy busy month which brought with it some fun, hard work, unexpected trip, and a loss.
We FINALLY got our basement finished. Well as finished as it's going to get right now!! Yah! We got our carpet in and the kids moved down stairs into their new bedrooms. It's been heaven to have more room now.

We got it done just in time for some visitors!! We ended up TOTALLY lucking out and getting some quality Heap family time!! It was so much fun to catch up and the kids picked up right where they left off.

Jamie always knows how to liven things up! It kind of made my heart hurt again that she isn't here anymore :(

The boys had a fun sleepover. It's amazing they actually did go to sleep!

Crew and Grady had some good times :)

We got to crash the Clark dinner! They are the funnest family!

Just wish we would have had more time! Come back soon!

challenge day 9 - accomplishments

It's only day 9 yet I feel like this challenge has been good for me to accomplish more around the house and balance my life a little better. The second week has been LOTS easier with the no sugar/soda. I've also been trying to get my house a little more organized and projects finished. WHY am I such a pack rat and pile maker. I drive myself nuts.

I had a little helper today in the basement, well, a couple little helpers. It's definitely more fun to have a buddy to paint with. Thanks Miranda for coming to my rescue today!! She's not the only one. I've also had others come to my rescue lately and I TOTALLY appreciate it. You know who you are!!

It's getting there, slowly but surely. We are working on the trim/doors/closets now and then the paint will be done. Next CARPET!!  Can I hear a wooot woooooot!?

Our Sunday Drives!

Do you ever just jump in the car on a Sunday evening and go for a drive? That has been our tradition many many times. Last Sunday night my friend Claire's husband came barreling around the corner in this puppy! He had just bought it and we told him we wanted to take a spin in it with him. So when things got a little boring last night (Sunday) I text Claire and said - WHERE IS OUR SUNDAY DRIVE?????

So within minutes there she was picking us all up for our little outing!

It think I'm convincing her that it's our new tradition!

My kids thought it was the funnest thing EVER!!
