There are some crazy things going on around here lately! For instance:
Kyle found out that one of Riley's friends was NOT a BYU fan. Can you believe it??? I can't. Where did this girl come from?? How can she live with herself?? So he told her if she did not become a FAN she would be sent home. She of course decided to conform so she would be welcome in our home.
Finding legos spelled out in BYU yet another sign that my kids are being brain washed into believing that BYU is the only TRUE college and they need to have a testimony of it to survive in this world!
Listening to my 4 year old chanting and coloring BYU pictures all day. Asking me NON stop questions about BYU and telling me how the "UTES are BAD."
There are actual people - TONS of people that put lit up "U's" in their windows or big banners up on their houses of either a "y" or a "u"! Actual Vinyl lettering on their cars proclaiming their preference for their team of choice.
In our ward there was a new baby boy born who was named COUGAR!
The other day I was in a Training Table down town SLC and I was surrounded by RED. YES they were actual UTES. My instincts told me to be frightened but my mind told me they are just regular people they aren't going to hurt me. I still felt the need to hurry out of the there. What if they found out somehow who and what my husband and family is?? I could have been toast.
I'm finding out this is a very volatile place to live. Growing up on farm and in a house of mainly women I didn't have any idea that this sort of thing really goes on and that rivalries are such a big deal! I used to think that all Utah people supported their Utah teams except for on the actual rivalry game days. Can you believe I would be so naive??I still think that it is a little COO COO to be this crazy about teams but I have learned over the years that it is important to be a supportive wife to my big BYU-fan-of-a-husband. So, I wear my BYU t-shirt, I dress my kids in blue on game day, make fun plans for us for watching the game with friends, and clear the calender on games days.
After all who isn't a little coo coo about something??? Kyle is supportive of me when I get glazed over eyes when I am at a gem show with the massive amounts of BEADS calling out to me!! ("yes they really do")
So Embrace your quirky coo coo-ness and let me know what it is you are crazy for!

TREATS.... MATT WILL TELL YOU NOTHING GETS ME MORE EXCITED THE GOODIES. and im excited for tonight game day awe ya
Atta girl Jean!! It has taken me 8 years to understand Ryan's cowboy's craze, and now I am happily a part of it. It is fun to get excited about something. It makes the Monotany of life a little more fun! I can't say someone naming their kid cougar is crazy, since we named our kid Dallas. To each his own:) I hope the Coug's do well for your hubby today:)
I love that Kyle is so crazy about game day - that's a little bit of fun!!!
that's right. start them young! :)
I'm crazy for T.T. and hubby doesn't understand it. I guess I should say I "used" to be crazy for T.T. - but I haven't eaten red meat in years, so what would I get if I went there now?!? Yikes!! That is a dilemma. I could always get Mels stand-by turkey sandwich?! The only way I can relate to game day coo-coo's is that both hubby and I get in a sad/bad mood if the Saints lose. It's not as bad when LSU loses, cuz they rarely lose! But, the saints losing truly makes my heart sad! So, this past Sunday was a GOOD day since they won again! YES!
Okay, first of all the game is on right now and BYU is kicking some booty...YAAY keep it up Cougs.
2nd...are you saying that if you walked into a restaraunt and saw Paul you would run out in fear bc he is a Utah fan?? Just kidding!! have fun watching the game, my hubby is in the other room watching it as we speak...and he is rooting FOR BYU!!
We have a similar issue here in Boise although it's BSU and UofI. As times have gone on, there are a lot more BSU fans around here. Good thing we don't have to play the Y this year! We're doing good, but I don't know if it's that good. :)
Yes Trish we all know that Paul is very scary! He might make me wear a sign around my neck or something. HA
No I was just surrounded by red it was weird!
This is true...you could be sporting a sign around your neck, and dont forget you would be wearing nothing but your underwear! HAHAHA! (great game, BYU)
I must say that BYU is THE best!!!
yes- I'm with Jamie- treats for me too. Love em/ hate em, but mostly love em. CUTE signature here Jean. How did you do that?
