The Heapsters gave us a drop-by the other night.It may seem insignificant to you but it truly makes me
giddy inside!
When we lived in Tucson my buddy Jamie
used to live only a hop skip and a jump away!
It was so easy to have a drop-by visit
and especially on Sunday nights.
It was probably one of my favorite things.
Now they are a lot fewer and far between because we don't live as close as
we once did but they are
sure still a highlight!
10 reasons I love a good DROp-BY visit!
1. It's like Christmas
2. Sometimes they bring treats
3. I don't know they are coming therefore
my house doesn't need to be clean
4. I love visiting with friends & family
5. makes me feel special
6. my kids start bouncing off the walls
7. sometimes there is card playing involved
8. I have a good reason to avoid anything
I am supposed to be doing but didn't want to do it anyways
9. then we can reciprocate the drop by and that's always an adventure
10. I'm always up for a party!
If you are not a drop-by-er you should try it!
It's loads of fun unless the drop-by-ee is not there
then that pretty much bites!
Now if you want to be a drop-by-er
you need to know the signals if it is not a good time for your drop-by!
1. if they already have a drop-by then you need to leave asap,
make up something if you have to,
this is their time for drop-bying
and you will have to try again later!
2. If the drop-by-ee is eating dinner......not a good time...
unless you are too that level of not caring if you are intruding.
3. If the drop-by-ee's don't answer the door after a couple knocks and
it is after 9:15pm....immediately run away. You will feel extremely uncomfortable
if they answer the door sweating perfusly!
It's very technical!
Stick to these simple rules and you'll be fine!

lol! I like the last rule....what does that remind me of...:)How fun to have a Heapmister drop by! If only drop-bys were like Instant messaging, and you could drop by someone who lived far away. What I would give for a little 1-2 drop by:)
oh tender!!! i too so miss our drop bys, even though when ever we did them matt would try to wesel you to cook something up for him. i allways loved hearing you come up with some ideas of what you could make. and the rules are so TRUE!!!! and yes it is a must to stick to them. then agian why in the world would you answer the door when that is happening and you are all sweaty? and not only anwser the door but invite everyone in to try to explaine why the other spouse is missing in action for a few minuets?
thats its im taking this drop bys to the next level even if you do live a little further, just gives us a good reason for a sunday drive.
oh and no wonder why reece always wants a party.... refer to rule

I like the rules. I think I need to go over them with Ryan. Ryan loves drop-bys but isn't always considerate. He is always trying to get some treats like Matt. Or he will distroy a bathroom for 30 minutes and then say we have to go, like he did at his bros house.
Have to say, a good drop-by from the Heaps or Olsens would always be welcome. Too bad it would be a 5 hour trip.
I really miss having drop by friends - that must have been a real treat!
I love the last rule too...I was cracking up over here. I so wish we could do drop bys with you heaps and olsens...but you had to pick up and move to Utah! Dang we all miss you. Looks like the Heaps had a successful drop-by! Miss you guys, I head to Utah tomorrow...so hopefully we can get together next week. Miss you guys!

Hey so we started a little rumor last night... It was kind of funny. I was over at Don and Susan's house, and Melissa and her fam were there. Don and Susan were talking about how Dale and Carolyn had left or were leaving for Utah, and Melissa said, "Oh to be with Jeannie?" I asked why they would need to "be" with you, and she said, "because she's pregnant" I was like "WHAT!" So we asked Don and Susan, and they were like, "She's PREGNANT!?"
So we were all questioning where this info came from... I think we started a rumor, and we are just trying to make things right. We hear that people want you to have another one... anyway it was kind of funny, and we are no longer spreading that news :) hehe Melissa and I had a laugh though
